Info we need from you

  1. Dial 999 on any telephone
  2. If you are using a work phone you may first have to dial a number (e.g. 9) for an outside line (9-999)
  3. When the Police officer answers, clearly explain the emergency and answer their questions. The information you provide is vital to the type of police response
  4. Be calm. When a caller is upset, it is hard to understand what he or she is saying or to get vital information quickly.
  5. Stay on the phone. Do not hang up!
  6. Give your name and address. If your address is different from the location of the crime, be sure to let the police officer know.
  7. If possible, give the police officer suspect’s description, weapons, if any, and vehicle description and registration number.
