Jurong Police Division
Introduction
Jurong Police Division first came into existence as the 'Rural West' Division on 24 Sep 1965 and operated from a standalone building located at Bukit Panjang. As the communities in the west grew, police posts were built in Ama Keng, Mandai and Kranji.

Following Singapore's independence, the western part of Singapore underwent rapid rural, industrial and urban development. From then on, the Rural West Division expanded to meet the challenges of policing a larger population. In 1975, it shifted to the Taman Jurong Police Station at Yung Ho Road . In 1980, the division shifted to Corporation Road and became known as the Jurong Police Division. Since 19 Jan 2003, Jurong Police Division has been located at its current modern premises at 2 Jurong West Avenue 5.

Jurong Police Division serves a residential population of over one million residents. Among the 6 Police land divisions in Singapore, Jurong Police Division covers the largest land area (approximately 39% of Singapore’s total land area), stretching from Boon Lay and Tuas in the west to Woodlands in the north, including Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang. Besides residential estates and major industrial areas, it is home to about 8 tourist attractions and has the longest coastal area lined with over 100 sea-fronting companies. It is also responsible for the security of the Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints, Singapore’s two land border crossings with Malaysia.

Jurong Police Division serves the community through a network of 6 Neighbourhood Police Centres (NPCs) and 10 Neighbourhood Police Posts (NPPs). The 6 NPCs are Nanyang NPC, Jurong West NPC, Bukit Batok NPC, Bukit Panjang NPC, Choa Chu Kang NPC and Woodlands NPC. These NPCs are at the forefront of the division’s community policing efforts, forging close rapport and collaboration between the police and the community to proactively address crimes, safety and security concerns in the community. Jurong Police Division works in partnership with a total of 159 grassroots organisations to ensure safe neighbourhoods.
