Singapore Government Scholarship (SGS)

The Scholarship is awarded to promising students to pursue undergraduate studies in overseas universities (UK, Canada and Australia). Upon graduation, they will pursue a career as Senior Officers in the Singapore Police Force.

Upon graduation, the scholars will be given challenging assignments and postings that allow them to hone their strategic planning skills, leadership abilities as well as organisational skills.

Eligibility

	Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with the intention of taking up citizenship
	Good performance in National Service
	Good co-curricular activities (CCA) record
	GCE 'A' levels*, Polytechnic diploma with Merit or equivalent e.g. IB Candidates offering GCE 'A' Levels: The following criteria is applicable for SGS (SPF) awarded after 2008: To be eligible for SGS (SPF), candidates should offer at least 11 academic units.

	Tuition fees and other approved charges
	Monthly overseas maintenance allowance
	Annual return economy class air fare for annual vacation attachment programme
	Annual book allowance
	Clothing allowance
	Settling-in allowance
	Computer allowance

Condition of Award

Scholars would be bonded for 6 years (English speaking countries) or 5 years (non English speaking countries) starting from the day they assume duty.

Courses of Study

Most disciplines (Except Medicine, Dentistry and Architecture).
Applicants intending to pursue a degree in Law will not be called to the Bar while serving in the Home Team.
