Singapore Police Force Overseas Scholarships (SPFO)
The SPF Overseas Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships awarded by the Public Service Commission. SPF (Overseas) Scholars are sent to renowned universities in Oxford, Cambridge and London in the UK, as well as Cornell, Pennsylvania, Chicago and Yale in the USA for undergraduate studies. SPF (O) Scholars are groomed as a leader through the Management Associate Programme (MAP) that starts from Day 1 of the scholarship and continue throughout the scholar’s studies into the 4-year MA programme upon graduation.
Eligibility

Candidates offering GCE 'A' Levels:
- The following criteria is applicable for SPFO Scholarships awarded after 2008:
To be eligible for SPFO Scholarship, candidates should offer at least 11 academic units.
Candidates who do not meet academic criteria would be considered for scholarships if they have outstanding leadership qualities and CCA records

Condition of Award
Scholars would be bonded for 6 years (English speaking countries) or 5 years (non English speaking countries) starting from the day they assume duty after completing their course of study.
Disruption
SPFO Scholars will be granted disruptions from NS. Overseas scholars heading for UK and USA will be disrupted after serving 9 months to coincide with the start of overseas term time.
National Service after Graduation
Upon graduation, scholars will complete the remaining period of the National Service liability with the SPF.
Courses of Study
Most disciplines (Except Medicine, Dentistry and Architecture).
Applicants intending to pursue a degree in Law will not be called to the Bar while serving in the SPF.
