FAQ for EPC - Lodging of Police Report
1. When can I use this e-service?

This e-service can be used for reporting lost properties or for reporting crimes which does not require immediate police action. As your report will not be read immediately, you SHOULD NOT use this service to notify the Police if one or more of the following apply:
  • The incident is happening now or is still in progress
  • The suspect(s) is/are still at the scene or around the vicinity
  • Someone's life or property is in immediate danger
  • Someone has been injured in the incident
  • The report pertains to a missing person
  • Physical evidence* has been left at the scene of crime

  • *physical evidence includes blood stains, fingerprints or any items left at the scene by the suspect

    2. Do I still need to go to a police station to follow-up on my police report?

For crime cases, you may still be required to go to a police post to assist us in the investigations

    3. How soon can my report be processed?

Upon your confirmation of the ePC report online, the system will automatically send an email, to the address which you have indicated, with a copy of the Police Report attached. This Police Report includes a system generated report number for your reference. Thereafter, if further assistance or clarifications if required with respect to your report, you may be contacted by our officers

    4. Why have I not received any email reply even though I have confirmed and submitted my online report?

You might have accidentally provided a non-valid email address or your email inbox is full. In such instances, our officers will attempt to contact you within 48hours if you have provided your contact details within your online report. You may be asked verification questions e.g. NRIC No., Date of Birth etc. before a copy of the report will be present to you

    5. Will I be contacted after my report is processed?

You will be contacted for all ePC Crime Reports by way of email, letter or telephone call informing you the status/outcome of your case. Where the ePC report lodged indicates that no offence has been disclosed, you shall be informed together with the reason for not doing so. You can expect to be contacted in adherence to the existing police service pledge target for updating victims of crime. For ePC Lost Property Reports, you may not be contacted unless your lost items have been traced by the Police.

    6. Can I apply for a true copy of the ePC report I have lodged?

You can submit a request for a true copy of your report by using the e-Application of Certified Reports System (eACRs) e-service on SPF's Electronic Police Centre portal at: http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/index.htm
