Companies are required to have Security Agency (SA) Licence if they are providing security officers to their clients as defined in Section 13 of the Private Security Industry Act Cap 250A.

Only Companies with Security Agency (SA) licence can accept assignments from clients. Processing time for security agency licence takes about 30 working days. Payment for licence is upon approval of licence application by the Licensing Officer.  

Employers employing their own security officers for their own premises (In-house employer) do not require a SA licence but must register online. Processing time for inhouse employer registration takes about 5 working days.
