Ang Mo Kio Murder Suspect Arrested Within 16 Hours
 

Police arrested a 26-year-old male Sabahan in connection with the murder of a 61-year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident Abdul Khalid bin Othman, at about 9.45 a.m. this morning, after 16 hours of extensive investigation.

On 21 June 08 at about 6.30 p.m. Mr Abdul Khalid bin Othman was pronounced dead inside a flat at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.

The suspect had no fixed place of residence in Singapore . However officers from the Criminal Investigation Department through extensive investigations and enquiries tracked down the suspect to a hotel in the vicinity of Geylang, where he was arrested.

Director of Criminal Investigation Department, Senior Assistant Commissioner Ng Boon Gay commended the officers for their swift action leading to the quick arrest of the suspect within 16 hours.

Police will be charging the suspect in Court 26 on 23 June 08 for Murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, Cap 224.
