Four Youths Arrested For Robbery with Hurt
 

Police have arrested four male youths aged between 17 and 20 years old who are believed to be involved in a case of Robbery with Hurt committed at Anchorvale Link on 2 April 2010 .

On 2 April 2010 at about 12.15 am , Police responded to a case of robbery at Block 304A Anchorvale Link. The victims, aged 14 and 15 years old, were chatting at the void deck of the said block when a group of youths approached them and accused them of stealing their friend’s handphone. When the victims denied the act, the youths assaulted them and robbed them of their bag, hand phone and valuables worth a total of about $500/- before fleeing.

Through follow up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to establish the identity of the first suspect. On 15 April 2010 at about 5.00 pm , the first suspect was arrested at Blk 200B Sengkang East Road . Following his arrest, three other suspects were subsequently arrested in the vicinity of Blk 200B Sengkang and Blk 950 Hougang Avenue 9 on the same day.

Three of the suspects will be charged in the Subordinates Court No. 26 on 17 April 2010 for Robbery with Hurt which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 20 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes. Investigations against the fourth suspect are still on-going.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division HQ, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Polic e Hsu Sin Yun, commended his officers for their excellent investigative work which resulted in the arrest of the suspects. DAC Hsu also advised members of the public to be wary of their surroundings. When confronted, members of the public should remain calm, take note of the physical appearance and distinctive features of the perpetrators and call for the Police as soon as possible.
