Police are investigating the murder of a 59-year-old Chinese man.
On 31 May 2010 at about 6.40pm, Police responded to a call of a person injured outside a building along Selegie Road. The 59-year-old Chinese man was pronounced dead by paramedics at about 7.15 pm.
Through excellent coordination among the responding officers and with the assistance of two members of public, Police arrested a 53-year-old suspect at Bugis Village in connection with the murder. Two knives were also recovered from the suspect’s possession.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 2 June 2010 for the offence of murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries the death penalty upon conviction.
