4 Youth Robbers Arrested
 

Police have arrested 4 youths aged between 15 to 19 years old for suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt which occurred on 24 June 2010.

On 24 June 2010 at about 12.05 am, a 25 year-old woman fell prey to 4 male youths who assaulted and robbed her of her handbag containing valuables amounting to $100/- as she was walking along the pathway near Blk 318 Sengkang East Way.

Through extensive follow up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the suspects. On 29 June 2010 at about 12.50 am , the first suspect was arrested in the vicinity Blk 642 Rowell Road. Through follow up investigations, the other three accomplices were arrested at Stirling, Tampines and Jurong Estates respectively between 2.15am and 6.30 am the same day .

All 4 suspects will be charged in Court on 30 June 2010 for an offence of Robbery with Hurt which carries a maximum of 20 years imprisonment and at least 12 strokes of the cane.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division HQ, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun, commended his officers for their good investigative skills which led to the arrest of the four suspects. DAC Hsu also advised members of the public to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings. When confronted, members of the public should remain calm, take note of the physical appearance and distinctive features of the perpetrators and call for the Police as soon as possible.
