To herald the arrival of the Singapore 2010 Youth
Olympic Games, the Singapore leg of the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame
(JYOF) will take place from 7 to 13 August 2010 (with a break on 9 August). The
Flame will pass through various constituencies, parks, schools, historic sites,
places of interest and Singapore's financial and civic districts.
In preparation, the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee
(SYOGOC) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will be conducting a rehearsal
on Thursday 29 July 2010, from 12.00 am to 3.00 am.
Information on the affected roads in Jurong East, Jurong West, Bukit Batok,
Chinese Garden and Boon Lay area will be displayed on the Expressway
Monitoring and Advisory System (EMAS) to inform motorists. Auxiliary police
officers will be stationed at the road junctions to guide motorists. Please see
Annex A for detailed list of roads.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their travel and use alternative routes to avoid
these stretches of roads as well as to tune in to the radio for the latest traffic
updates.
