Traffic Arrangements for National Day Rally 2010
 

The National Day Rally 2010 will be held on Sunday, 29 August 2010 from 5.30 pm to 10 pm. The Prime Minister will be delivering his National Day Rally Speech at the University Cultural Centre (UCC) located at National University of Singapore (NUS) off Kent Ridge Crescent. About 1600 guests and 800 working personnel from various organisations will be present.

To facilitate the event, the following roads and lanes will be closed on the date and time stipulated below:

a Kent Ridge Crescent (between Clementi Road and Sports Drive 2)
Sunday, 29 August 2010 from 2.30 pm -12 midnight
b Engineering Drive 1( between Kent Ridge Crescent and Engineering Drive 3)
c 1 lane (extreme left turning lane into Kent Ridge Crescent) along Clementi Road in the direction of West Coast Highway
d 1 lane (extreme right turning lane into Kent Ridge Crescent) along Clementi Road in the direction of Bukit Timah Road

 

During the road closures, only authorised vehicles displaying the approved official labels will be allowed to enter the closed roads. Police officers will be deployed at the affected road junctions to assist and direct motorists. Public bus services affected by the road closure will be diverted according.

Motorists traveling along Clementi Road from Pasir Panjang Road are not allowed to turn right into Kent Ridge Crescent. They will be directed to proceed straight along Clementi Road and use Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) to NUS. Motorists traveling along Clementi Road towards Pasir Panjang Road will not be permitted to turn left into Kent Ridge Crescent near UCC. They will be directed to proceed straight and use the next entry of Kent Ridge Crescent into NUS.

Motorists traveling along Lower Kent Ridge will not be permitted to enter Kent Ridge Crescent towards Clementi Road in the direction of UCC. They will be directed to proceed straight south towards Clementi Road in the direction of Pasir Panjang Road.

Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles that are found parking indiscriminately and/or causing obstruction will be towed away. We seek the public’s understanding and co-operation.
