Handing Over of Command Ceremony at Jurong Police Division
 

Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) Florence Chua Siew Lian will take over commandership of Jurong Police Division from Assistant Commissioner (AC) Cheang Keng Keong on 6 Sept 2010.

DAC Florence Chua, aged 45, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 1989, after graduating with a degree in Business Administration at National University of Singapore. In her 21 years of service, DAC Chua had held several key positions, including Head Investigations of Central Police Division and Assistant Director (Operations Division) of Criminal Investigation Department. She was Director (Investigations) in the Casino Regulatory Authority before being appointed as Commander of Jurong Police Division.

On assuming command of Jurong Police Division, DAC Florence Chua said, "Jurong has the largest land area among the six land divisions and a large foreign workers residential population in the western region. Besides residential areas, key industrial sites and key installations, it also boasts the longest coastal line and is responsible for enforcing security at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints. As Commander Jurong Police Division, I will continue to work with the community and strategic partners to ensure the safety and security of the community. I also intend to develop officers' operational capability and competencies to deal with the challenges ahead."

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Cheang Keng Keong, aged 43, has served as Commander of Jurong Police Division since 18 December 2006. He will be assuming the post of Commander Traffic Police (Designate) on 7 Sept 2010. AC Cheang joined the Singapore Police Force in 1992 with a First Class Honours Degree in Physics from the NUS. He has held various appointments in the Singapore Police Force, including Deputy Director, Technology Division MHA, Deputy Commander of Central Police Division and Deputy Commander of Police Coast Guard.
