44 arrested in multi-agency operations led by Bedok Police Division
 

44 persons aged between 23 and 52 were arrested in a multi-agency operation led by Bedok Police Division and supported by the Gurkha Contingent (GC) of the Singapore Police Force.

The multi-agency joint operation that ended early this morning involves officers from Bedok Police Division, Central Narcotics Bureau (Supervision Division G (Bedok)), Immigration & Checkpoints Authority as well as Singapore Customs. The operations consisted of raids carried out at a forested area off Tampines Street 61.  The arrests were made for various criminal offences including vice-related and gambling activities, drugs, and immigration offences. Those arrested are largely foreigners with work-permits.
 
Commander of Bedok Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police How Kwang Hwee, expressed his appreciation to all the agencies involved for their strong support and commended the officers for their professionalism and excellent teamwork which led to a successful operation. He added, “The Police will continue to work closely with other enforcement agencies in our efforts to clamp down on criminal activities.”
 
Investigations against those arrested are ongoing.
