EXTENSION OF CURRENT STATE SUBSIDY FOR UNKNOWN EXPORT SHIPMENTS SCREENING UNDER THE REGULATED AIR CARGO AGENT REGIME BY 3 MONTHS FROM 1 APRIL 2010 TO 30 JUNE 2010

Please be informed that the State subsidy for unknown export shipments screening has been extended by 3 months from 1 April 2010 to 30 June 2010.

From 1 July 2010, CTOs may impose fees to recover the cost of screening of unknown export shipments. The CTOs will be allowed to implement the screening fees commencing 1 July 2010 after providing industry with two months notice starting from 1 May 2010.

The CTOs will have to observe the following guidelines when determining the screening fees:

1. The fees should be set to encourage cargo agents to sign up as RCAs
2. The fees should be itemized for transparency; and
3. Any introduction or changes to fees should be clearly communicated to the industry at least two months in advance to give
   sufficient notice to the industry.
