Mr Idris Mohd Yusof ARCM, FVCM(Hons) 1986 -2004
1986 saw the Director's baton passed again. With the retirement of Ridzwan Mulok, Idris Mohd Yusof was appointed as the Director of Music.
In 1972, Mr Idris Mohd Yusof established the Woman Police Pipes and Drums. His most prominent achievement was in 1991 when Mr Idris Mohd Yusof led the Combined Singapore Police Band across the famous grounds of the historic Edinburgh Castle during the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Under his leadership the band has moved from strength to strength, transforming from a strictly regimental marching band to one which boasts the ability and versatility of performing a wide repertoire of music from ethnic favourites to orchestrated classics. |

Mr. Ridzwan Mulok PPA, LRAM, ARCM 1960- 1986
Mr. Ridzwan's musical excellence received recognition on his return from overseas studies in 1960 when he was appointed the Bandmaster of the Singapore Police Force Band. He was also the Resident Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, replacing Mr. Gordan Van Hien. Besides his fundamental duties as Bandmaster of the Police Band, he also supervised all the Military Bands in Singapore as well as the various School Bands. |

Mr. JE Boyle ARCM 1957-1960
Mr. Boyle was transferred from the Prisons Service to serve as the Police Band's next Bandmaster. During his service, Mr. Boyle was responsible for establishing the Police Combo and Dance Band which over the years has proven itself to be very popular with audiences both in the government sector and the general public. Under his leadership. Mr. Boyle led the band to greater heights, not only increasing the number of performances but also performing more successfully than ever before. |

Mr. RE House ARCM 1950-1957
Before his appointment as Bandmaster. Mr. House was a member of the 1st Devon Regiment Band at Selarang Barracks. Mr. House continued the vision of Mr. Hitch to help raise the standard of the musicianship and musical awareness amongst the locals. With zeal and devotion to duty, he taught many young Malays to read music and play musical instruments. Subsequently, all of them turned out to be professional musicians of the Police Band. |

Mr. J Hitch LRAM, ARCM 1935-1950
Mr. Hitch was a former member of the Cheshire Regiment prior to his appointment as Bandmaster of the Police Band. He had been noted as an outstanding and extremely talented musician during his days at Kneller Hall (Royal Military College of Music, London) and was a highly respected horn player in the British Army.
Mr. Hitch was instrumental in seeking approval from the government to enlist young local boys into the band. Under his direct supervision, he taught them how to play the drums and bugles. |

Mr. FE Minns ARCM 1925-1935
Mr. Minns was an officer of the 2nd Sussex Regiment Band that was stationed in Singapore. He was appointed as the first Bandmaster of the Police Band and was responsible for the initial development of the Band, setting a high musical standard that has been carried on through the years. Mr. Minns retired in 1935 after serving for 10 years. |
