The Director of Music since 1 st May 2004 is DSP Amri Amin. He began his professional career in the SPF Band in 1991 and was awarded the Singapore Public Service Commission scholarship to study at Kneller Hall, Royal Military School of Music, United Kingdom in 1993. In 1996 he graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Music) from Kingston University.

The Director of Music is assisted by the Deputy Director of Music and Head Music Development. Inspector Sulaiman Abdul Wahab. Insp Sulaiman received his Honours Degree from the Kneller Hall, Royal Military School of Music, United Kingdom in 2004.

The administrative running of the SPF band is led by a group of rank and file musicians led by SSI (2) Sazali Sulaiman. DSP Amri believes that the backbone of any organisation is the support staff. Here these 5 musicians are chosen to lead in areas according to their strength and ability to multi task. They serve the 76 strong members of the SPF Band including the Women Police Pipes & Drums.
