The overall crime situation in Singapore remains under control for 2009, with the number of overall crime cases decreasing by 0.4% as compared to the previous year. Four of the six crime classes1 recorded decreases in 2009 vis-à-vis last year, with significant decreases noted for Violent Property Crimes (-22.1%) and Miscellaneous Crimes (-11.3%).
