12 The road traffic situation last year saw an improvement, with an overall drop in the number of fatal and injury accidents. Less people were killed or injured on our roads. However, while Traffic Police take on the challenge of making our roads safer and more pleasant for all road users, members of public h ave a part to play.
13 Many traffic accidents can be prevented, if we are more considerate towards others, and more conscious about practising road safety. For example, motorcyclists are one of the more vulnerable groups of road users; all other motorists, and the motorcyclists themselves, should be aware of that and be more cautious.
14 Traffic Police's aim is to save and protect lives - yours, your loved ones and those around you. We are not here to issue you with summonses or to make your lives difficult. You may be able to afford the fines, but certainly not the lifelong guilt of having killed someone on the road, or causing the death of a loved one. Whether Traffic Police are around or not, motorists should follow traffic rules.
