Singapore’s traffic situation had improved last year, with the total number of fatal and injury accidents registering an overall decrease. There were also fewer injuries and lives lost on our roads.
2 There was a decrease in the total number of fatal and injury accidents, from 6,845 in 2004 to 6,705 in 2005. The number of fatal accidents decreased from 182 cases in 2004 to 172 cases in 2005. The number of serious injury accidents1 remained the same at 71 cases in 2005. The number of slight accidents has dropped from 6,592 cases in 2004 to 6,462 cases in 2005.

3 The number of persons killed decreased from 193 to 173. The number of persons v injured decreased from 8,439 in 2004 to 8,224 in 2005, of which 87 suffered serious injuries.
