Significant Decrease In Fatal And Injury Accident Rate

In 2011, the total number of fatal and injury accidents registered a decrease of 8.1%, from 8,625 cases in 2010 to 7,925 cases last year. The fatal and injury accident rate (normalised against 10,000 vehicle population[1]) registered a significant drop from 91.96 in 2010 to 83.31 in 2011; the lowest fatal and injury accident rate in the past 5 years. (Please refer to Chart 1).
